The Oak City Story

After 20 years at large firms, Ross Roggensack realized that an independent consulting firm could potentially better serve the faith-based foundations and endowments with which he was currently working. Those organizations needed a team that not only tolerated their worldview but shared it. They needed true accountability in screening out investments that harm our neighbors. They needed access to managers and funds committed to investing in ways that actively love our neighbors. To that end, and armed with a handful of clients, an analyst and an office in his attic, Ross founded Oak City Consulting in early 2012.

Melissa Smith joined Oak City in late 2012, bringing years of public accounting experience and structure to the firm. The next 9 years included steady growth, three more additions to the team and an expanding understanding of the way God can use concentrated pools of capital for impact around the world.

Our mission today is the same as it was in 2012. We encourage Gospel-driven endowments, foundations and family offices by helping them develop, implement and maintain an investment process that reflects the hope we share in Jesus Christ:
