It Came Upon the Markets Now

Edmund Sears wrote, “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear” roughly 150 years ago, and it remains a beloved Christmas classic. So, please pardon my take for today:

It came upon the markets now, those strange, familiar chimes

Of bulls and pundits straining toward, the thrills of dollar signs

The sad and weary bears impart, the doom and unbearable sighs

But yah the bulls sing back the song and cheer the market highs

When through the wars and deficits, investors look on in awe

The fed insists the recession nigh, inflation now in thaw

Interest rates they’ll be cutting soon, and fears of doom bring sighs

And yah the bulls sing back the song, and cheer the market highs

O ye, beneath debt’s crushing load, opponents cannot row

Officials toil at every turn with painful steps and slow

Elections nearing relevance, calamity on the rise

And yah the bulls sing back the song, and cheer the market highs

Merry Christmas from all of us at Oak City Consulting. May the good news of great joy for all people be with you this year.

And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting father, the Prince of Peace.
