Fast Chips to Money
We are all firmly convinced that artificial intelligence will change the way we do almost everything: driving cars, brushing teeth, paying taxes, and choosing a vacation. And the FANG crowd (remember them?) are spending like the race is on (with China I suppose).
Who can spend the most the fastest? The crowd, according to ChatGPT of course, spent $134 billion in the first quarter of 2025 alone.
So where does this end? How much revenue will it take to sustain any of this madness? How many super-fast chips will it take to win this race? And maybe once free cash flow evaporates, we could even have a chip company “invest” in one of their best customers (what could possibly go wrong?).
Nvidia “invested” $3 billion in CoreWeave, with CoreWeave as one of Nvidia’s customers, surrounding a $6.3 billion “circular” relationship. Our source is, of course, Google AI.
We have seen this before, and as many of you know, my mind tries to put it to music. And no better way to speak of a mad race to spend to achieve happiness than the most classic of all rock classics . . .
“Fast Chips to Money”
By Ross Roggensack
Inspired by “Stairway to Heaven” and Jensen Huang, President and CEO of Nvidia
There’s a Jensen who’s sure
All he glitters is gold
And he’s riding his fast chips to money
With his Blackwell he knows,
Altman just can’t say no,
And with Trump he can get what he came for
Ooh, ooh, and he’s riding his fast chips to money
There’s a price on the stock,
And he wants it to rock,
But you know sometimes this is misleading
Seems like Elon and Sam take up all of the room,
But his GPU force is still stronger
Ooh, it makes me wonder
Ooh, and it makes me wonder
And as we wind on down the road
The dotcom shadows start to grow
There lurks the Worldcom we all know
And Jensen’s jacket starts to glow
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
This AI bust will start to blow
The chip feast beast will surely groan
When all are down, and down are all
To be the A, but not the I…….
And he’s riding his fast chips to money
